If Claus Vissing was hit by all the curses of Friday 13th at the Danish Speedway League meeting at Holstebro, he certainly was not marked by the blow, when riding for the Stoke Potters against the King's Lynn Stars at Loomer on Saturday, August 14th.
On the contrary, Claus was back at full strength and once again made top scorer for his team at 16 points for 6 heats, which also made him the over all top scorer of the meeting.
And not least - the Potters won the meeting at 49-43.

Superstition holds Friday the 13th to be a day of bad luck, and Fjelsted certainly ran out of luck when visiting Holstebro for a return meeting in the Danish Speedway League on Friday, August 13th.
At their first meeting at Fjelsted in May, Holstebro were sent home with a notable defeat at 52-35. On their home track, however, the jutes were far the stronger team, and Fjelsted went down to an almost equal defeat at 49-38.
Claus Vissing too was hit by the unlucky date scoring just 5 points - his lowest score this year.

Claus Vissing was at his finest, when he returned for the Stoke Potters in the away meeting at Sheffield on Thursday night, where he started winning his very first heat and finished as the Poters' top scorer at 11 points.
However his heat win was the only one for the Potters on the night, and most of the meeting was dominated by the Sheffield Tigers who were unbeatable at heir home track and send the Potters down to a 61-33 defeat.

Pouring rain during the first four heats made the home meeting Fjelsted vs Slangerup on Wednesday night a rather muddy affair. Nevertheless it was an extremely exciting and mainly close meeting, guests and home team following each other side by side from first to last heat.
Consequently the final result was a draw at 42-42.
Claus Vissing was back after his ankle injury and his performance may have been slightly marked by his missing al couple of weeks meetings and practice.
- I'd have loved nothing more than scoring a couple of more points tonight, he admitted. But considering this being my first meeting after the injury, I'm satisfied with the result. Now I just have to ride as many meetings as possible to get back in shape.

fredag, 23 juli 2010 |
Though Danish speedway is taking a break in July, I didn't plan on a vacation myself and was looking forward to a lot of meetings for the Stoke Potters instead. However, my plans were changed by my fall at Scunthorpe on July 16th.
Luckily, I wasn't seriously injured. After all a sprained ankle is nothing serious, but still it is enough to force me to take an unplanned summer vacation.
I cannot really use my leg and I'm unable to ride. Unfortunate-ly I can't do any of the things, one would normally do on a summer holliday either. Actually all I can do is to hobble around a bit on the splint, the doctors gave me to help me bring my ankle back in shape, untill I get back on the bike again. Hopefully that will be at the end of the month.
Yours,
Claus Vissing

Dramatic Night at Scunthorpe |
|
lørdag, 17 juli 2010 |
The away meeting at Scunthorpe on Friday night became unexpectedly dramatic for the Stoke Potters, who saw both Claus Vissing and Hyněk Štichauer taken to the hospital after falls in heats four and fifteen respectively.
In addition two spectators went the same way after the bike of a third Stoke rider, Taylor Poole, went over the safety fence in heat ten - luckily without the rider taking injury.
Claus Vissing was released from hospital with just a sprained ankle and will probably be back on the bike again in a short time. Neither he nor Štichauer will however be riding in the returnmeeting at Stoke on Saturday, and it is still uncertain, whether they will be ready for the away meeting at Newport on Sunday.
The Friday night drama ended up with a 51-39 defeat.
